To assist the culinary team in ensuring the efficient production of food in the section as per the set standards, procedures, customer’s requirements and cost guidelines.
Responsible for cooking/preparing a part of the food production schedule as allocated by the Sous Chef.
Ensure all ingredients are available from stores and are of good quality to enable him to produce food in a timely manner
Ensure all food produced is of high quality by following standard recipes and using correct ingredients.
Follow all food safety rules and regulations to ensure the safe production and storage of food and that any required exposure of these items to unacceptable temperature and humidity levels is minimized.
Ensure work station is kept clean as per the cleaning schedules.
Show creativity and innovation in food garnishing and presentation.
Actively work with the Sous Chef to increase his knowledge and expertise in all areas of production.
Ensure the correct use of equipment at all times and reports breakdown or failure to the Sous Chef.
Attend and participates in training sessions as required.
Perform other related functions that may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
Secondary degree plus 1 year experience
With experience as Commis I
Must be able to write and organize menus.
Must have ability to speak and understand English.
Maybe specialized in a particular type of cuisine
