Implement operational compliance across the company and its subsidiaries to a level where company is following the set procedure to hold its recognition as an ISO standardized (all applicable ISO and HACCP certifications) entity. This will require you to have all the requirements complied on a regular basis with food regulatory authorities and any new registration to their regular ongoing initiatives to streamline the standardized process in order to achieve operational efficacy and meet industry standards.
Operations Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring adherence to food safety standards and requirements as well as develop an internal food safety policy and procedure. In addition to that you’ll be responsible for periodic internal inspection, staff occupational trainings, preparing for internal/external audits, conduct internal investigations, inspect products and develop risk management strategies to reduce risk of spoiling food products.
You’ll work closely with management and departmental teams, in the development and implementation of compliance programs, ensuring to minimize operational risk and supporting company’s brand for the safety, quality and legality of our food products being sold in the market.
Develop, implement and monitor policies and procedures related to compliance activities but not limited to sanitization, pest control, calibration of vehicles, chillers, basic food hygiene, allergen management etc. Formulate strategy to prevent any violation of internal operational policy; ensure and verify that all the policies have been well communicated (both upward and downward) within the organization.
Maintain documentation of compliance activities in an organised manner, such as complaint logs, investigation and its outcome for correction measures.
Develop, implement and evaluate compliance related training programs; basic food hygiene, HACCP awareness, allergen management training, PIC (person in-charge) training, GHP (good hygiene practices) and any other training required. Ensure effectiveness of training program within the organization to enhance operational improvements.
Periodically (daily, weekly, monthly) plan and conduct inspection pertaining to cleaning, sanitization, storage and dispatch facility, pest control, checking chemicals used, temperature monitoring and address such issues within time to avoid any inventory spoilage and disruption of work.
Periodical calibration of delivery vehicles’ chillers/freezers, cold storage chillers on time to avoid any delays and penalty imposed by authorities to ensure confidence level of calibration you must have inspecting instruments as per the local and international standards to reduce the risk.
Lead and timely follow-up of compliance related procedures for certificates (ISO & HACCP) renewal as per the international and local government standards.
Coordinate and follow-up with PRO and HR for timely issuance and renewals of Occupational Health Cards (OHC) for new and old staff with the help of HRIS.
Lead internal and external audits (in areas such as site visit, verify set procedures, for sanitization, personal hygiene, chillers storage, temperature control etc) and timely closure of all non-compliance reports (NCR) with identified corrective actions proposed during the audit reviews to ensure that optimal standardization of compliance related to food safety policies and procedures are followed.
Prepare management reports regarding compliance operations and progress and recommend suggestions to take actions for improvements.
Ensure 100% cleanliness at all business locations such as, retail shop, cold stores and offices across the UAE.
Consult and provide required information to corporate attorneys as necessary to address any legal non-compliant issue (if any arise).
Collaborate with Human Resource department to ensure the implementation and due diligence of disciplinary actions in case of compliance standard violations.
Keep informed/updated with Municipalities of applicable Emirate regarding compliance for food Industry changes, trends, laws, best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on organizational processes for improvement.
Liaise with dept. supervisor/managers to develop and implement SOP’s for all the areas of operations to improve business efficiency and effectiveness with regard to food safety and hygiene.
Perform any other task that may be entrusted or assigned by the superiors/managers.
Shouldhave overall 10 years of compliance experience in Food or FMCG industry
Must have great knowledge and implementation experience of ISO and HACCP as per the UAE standardization
Candidate must be energetic and have ability to take responsibility
Shouldhave education in biotechnology or related and compliance certification in food preferably UAE based certification
