The Development Manager will work closely with the President to provide strategy and leadership in support of AURAK’s acquiring private and public funds to address its needs.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Plan and implement a program that includes measurable targets for the fiscal year (e.g. personal visits, cultivation activities, solicitation) set with and approved by President.
Conduct personal discovery visits each month and develop MOUs in corporation with the President office..
Ensure that external relationships and MOUs are cultivated in a thoughtful and deliberate manner.
“Ask” and “close” major gifts.
Work to ensure timely, accurate documentation of contact reports and cultivation strategies, as well as proposals, pledges, and fund agreements.
Evaluate and analyze data and information to identify patterns, trends, and relationships, and formulate logical and objective conclusions or recommendations.
Coordinate all staff, board, and volunteer contacts in cultivating and soliciting renewal and new donors
Write analytical or narrative reports, correspondence, or proposals.
Work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction, and set priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of tasks.
Act driven by a strong sense of ethical conduct that inspires confidence and motivation among colleagues and donor prospects.
Work effectively with academic and administrative leaders, as well as corporate and community leaders to achieve fundraising goals set for acquiring funds.
Work with other internal staff in devising, analyzing, modifying, implementing, and evaluating development programs, a diverse population in a complex and complicated environment.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred.
Solid fundraising leadership experience in a relevant educational or not-for-profit institution
A strong record of soliciting foundation, corporate and individual support with an emphasis on principal gifts, annual fund/membership, planned giving;
Proven experience in dealing with the media, corporate sponsors and ideally organizing major events;
Experience managing and motivating a team of advancement professionals
Excellent skills in working with public persons.
Worked with various data entry and database management and record keeping.
Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Able to produce reports and presentation
Knowledge and understanding of fund raising procedures
Excellent Communications Skills
Required Qualifications & Experience
Degree in management, public relations or international relations.
Minimum of one to two years’ experience in a fund raising office.
