Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently looking for a HSE Advisor to strengthen our team in Dubai.

Responsibilities:
Recommend effective preventative actions in all areas of work including reporting of all incidents and near misses
Engage with operational staff to identify high risk activities and HSE support;
Promote HSE objectives and initiatives
Encourage and promote use of the safety observation systems
Provide HSE training to Wood employees
Ensure thorough compliance to the HSE Management System
Conduct inductions with new starts
Deliver HSE Trainings for site based personnel and travellers
Actively engage and communicate with operations and contractor personnel to educate occupational hazard awareness
Supporting HSE incident investigations and undertaking the appropriate reporting requirements
Ensuring the project emergency response arrangements are in place and are communicated to all personnel; ensuring that project requirements align with Client requirements if these take precedence.
Engages with all levels of relevant business and client organisation
Manage a programme of HSE inductions and trainings for the project
Promote the awareness of HSE Initiatives to improve HSE Awareness and performance;
Mentor and develop HSE capabilities of the team
Ensure that planned project HSE Assurance activities are executed in accordance with the plan;
Assist in the maintenance, documentation and deployment of the WOOD HSE management system
Conduct site HSE Assurance activities
Supports the development of HSE schedules such as audit plans, HSE Improvement Plans
Executes assurance activities in line with the plans
Effectively using and maintaining the Wood CAIRS database
Uses HSE training tools to support and facilitate HSE competence within the organisation;
Facilitates incident investigations
Assist in compilining the information required for monthly reporting of HSE indicators
Regularly attend safety meetings, TBT, etc to ensure HSE information is communicated with all the work parties
Liase with client HSE to ensure communication of client HSE information to Wood teams
Delivery of HSE competency training packages to Wood employees
Encourage participation in the HSE Observation programmes
Mentor and coach the workforce on HSE Behaviours and expectations in line with the Wood Behavioural Standard
Assist in incident investigations and RCA
Successful roll out and implementation of HSE objectives, initiatives and campaigns
Successful completion of HSE Assurance activities in line with schedules and reporting requirements
Demonstrable improvement of HSE performance
Skills / Qualifications
HSE Qualification by recognised industry body (essential)
3 years minimum Occupational health and Safety in Industrial Services environment
Good organistational skills
Previous experience in a similar hands-on capacity
Previous site based experience is highly desirable
Previous experience in HSE training, PtW, H2S, CSE, W@H is essential
Commitment to improveing the HSE culture in the organisation
Commitment to overall quality, Safety and Assurance and the need to reduce incidents within the organisation (Safety, Business, quality and technical)
Very good interpersonal skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Integrity and trust, compassion and respect
