Junior Nursery Teacher – This position is based in Al Ain.

We are looking to recruit a qualified and passionate Junior Nursery Teacher for the following age groups: 2- 3 years. Teachers should hold a relevant Degree qualification such as Bachelors (Early Years/Elementary Education) or an equivalent level childcare qualification. Teaching license is highly preferred. A minimum of 2 years of experience of working in an early year’s environment is important. Excellent written and oral command of English is essential for this post.

Job Description – Junior Nursery Teacher

Job Scope

The Junior teacher post holder at Little Regent Nursery will lead in the provision of care and education for a class of nursery school children. The planning and delivery of such should reflect the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The post holder is instrumental in ensuring each child reaches their full potential through a commitment to quality and best practice in the classroom.

The post holder will work in a professional manner and share ideas and good practice with colleagues. The safety of children is also the responsibility of the post holder and they must work to provide a safe environment.

Reporting

The post holder is responsible to the Nursery Director.

The teacher is expected to lead the class assistants and plan / direct their work. Generally they report to the Director but on a day to day basis they report to the teacher.

Accountabilities

Teaching
Plan and deliver a program of care and education that allows each child to reach their full potential and is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Implement such plans in accordance with Little Regent Nursery agreed policies and procedures.
Review and evaluate class room plans and up-date appropriately.
Undertake appropriate observations to assess children’s development needs and inform future planning for the delivery of the curriculum.
Ensure such observation and assessment is effectively recorded and that each child has a portfolio of evidence.
Environment

Ensure the environment is safe and that all experiences and activities are supervised. If appropriate, risk assessment should be undertaken and control measures in place.
Ensure daily health and safety checks are undertaken and report any concerns.
Ensure the environment is effectively organised to promote exploration and investigation allowing children to learn by first hand experiences.
Create and maintain a positive culture which supports and encourages children to make their own choices and decisions so as to be independent and confident in the classroom.
Provide opportunities for both child initiated and teacher led activities and experiences in the curriculum.
Create and maintain a positive approach to behaviour management and encourage and support all children in learning how to behave appropriately.
Ensure all resources in the class are appropriate for the children and that they are effectively maintained and replaced. Support and encourage children in their appropriate use.
Ensure that the classroom is organised to offer a range of opportunities for learning and there is an accessible range of resources.
Provide an age appropriate visual timetable of the day’s events.
Organise displays of the children’s work relevant to the programme. Work with and share ideas with the team for the overall benefit of all the children in nursery.
Ensure children attendance record is accurately maintained.
Relationships and Communication

Ensure the personal social and emotional needs of each child are fully met.
Build effective relationships with each child and provide a suitable model for children to mirror.
Work in partnership with parents to ensure the best outcome for the each child’s learning and development is achieved.
Provide regular up-dates for parents on their child’s progress in nursery. Feedback will be on a daily basis as well as occasional parent conferences and end of year written report.
Contribute to monthly newsletters and other nursery publications.
