Drives the light duty (LD) vehicles of the company (License Code # 3 for saloon car or van up to 6 seats and Code # 5 for bus 9, 15 and 26 seats), in a safely manner in accordance with the UAE traffic laws and the company policies. He/she is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of company’s employees, food and goods and shall refrain from using it for any other purposes.
Transport Abela & Co. employees’ only from the company accommodation or designated gathering points, to their respective locations as per the set schedules and appropriate time, and back to the accommodation.
Transport food produced from production kitchen to service locations as scheduled or requested, also other food and non-food items respecting the instructions given by the Food Safety Department. Ensure that food is transported in cam-carriers following the set Work Instructions and that the cam-carriers are loaded in a safe manner.
Ensure that the vehicle is collected for regular servicing as planned, inform the Transport Supervisor if otherwise. Perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing bulbs, tire chains and spark plugs in case of unexpected vehicle breakdowns as per the set practices.
Report to the Transport Supervisor any transportation problems pertaining to his vehicle maintenance and breakdown, and inform him immediately of any accident by submitting a “Vehicle Accident Report”. Follow the set procedures in case of accidents to obtain a police accident report.
Comply with all U.A.E. traffic laws and regulations at all times. Ensure his/her driving is safe for his/her person, colleagues and the public. Attend road safety trainings when requested. Maintain his/her driving license validity. Ensure that the local Municipality approval sticker is always available on the vehicle.
Maintain the vehicle in a clean and hygienic manner at all times. Uphold courtesy, professionalism, positive attitude and image to other road users at all times. Strive continuously to avoid road fines and to be “the best driver” of the Company.
Follow the vehicle key handover policy and keep vehicle secured by checking locks and parking it in appropriate parking spaces. Apply caution and care while handling company vehicles.
Practice and apply all instructions and tips to improve car efficiency, mileage and reduce fuel consumption and carbon emission. In particular, reduce unnecessary trips and switched off engine when not in use.
Perform other related functions that may be assigned to him/ her.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
Secondary or Vocational degree
A valid U.A.E driving license.
License Category of 3-5
Must have held a driving license for at least 1 year
