To provide high level of understanding of legal and technical issues in order to resolve disputes and resolve complex commercial issues.
Responsible for high value commercial activities including the tendering procedures, change management, contract preparation, negotiation of terms and conditions and provide practical commercial solutions to any claims or disputes. Advise user departments in relation to contract process management to ensure all commercial activities are carried out in line with the company contracting guidelines. Lead the Contract Commitment Team (CCT) in the preparation of sourcing strategy, tender board memos and post contract performance reviews throughout the contracts active lifecycle.
Drilling contracts experience essential
Relevant Bachelor’s degree required; Law Degree preferred.
Ideally with a post-graduate qualification in Contract Management or in a complementary area.
10 years’ contracts experience in oil and gas operations or similar industries.
Extensive experience in the preparation and negotiation of tenders/contracts of small/medium/large scale projects with complexity and diversity.
Working experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, preferably Oracle.
In depth knowledge and understanding of contract and legal terms.
Demonstrate a high level of commercial and technical knowledge.
Proficient in contractual correspondence, contract verbatim and report writing.
Good knowledge of contract law; knowledge of oil and gas contract terms and conditions a plus.
Firm negotiator and Customer service oriented.
Self-directed and highly motivated.
Ability to prioritise amongst various demands and working well under pressure.
Ability and willingness to effectively coach and develop less experienced team members.
Highly effective interpersonal skills with excellent oral and written English communication skills.
