OVERVIEW

Facilitates the receiving, storing and moving or shipping of supplies, materials and stock with strong emphasis on safety, efficiency and world class customer service. Plans and schedules efficient and timely delivery of goods to customers’ designated locations.

Manages the export shipping instruction and document administration process with forwarders and customers.

Report to : Logistics Manager

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

Liaises with internal brand customer service coordinators and external customers to ascertain product requirements and delivery instructions
Schedules deliveries, ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient means of transporting product in collaboration with the warehouse management and team
Monitors and evaluates logistics reports to determine efficiency and effectiveness of logistics programs and services
Records and maintains files or records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory or other dispatch information
Adheres to all DDE company protocols, policies, and procedures
Productivity, Quality, & Safety

In collaboration with the warehouse manager, ensures weight compliance and safety standards are adhered to for all customer order deliveries
In collaboration with warehouse manager coordinates delivery schedules based upon the demands of the customer and vendor requirements
Organizes the preparation, shipping and receipt of product being delivered to or from the warehouse facility with focus on accuracy, efficiency and time management
Manages the flow of orders by coordinating and monitoring delivery pickups and drop off schedules both manually and via systemic channels
Teamwork and Collaboration

Coordinates with customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems or requests for service, deliveries or equipment with solution driven outcomes
Contributes to a positive, team orientated and inclusive work environment
Customer Service & Communication

Effectively communicates on a regular, ongoing basis with the warehouse team regarding customer needs, delivery dates and all changes in schedules
Works cooperatively with the warehouse manager to ensure drivers’ schedules cater to timeouts, efficient deliveries and meets or exceeds customer expectations
Ensures that customers are highly regarded and receive exceptional service throughout the flow of order processing, including readying of loads for shipment and managing the inbound and outbound warehouse traffic
Always addresses challenges with order flow, shipping delays, quality-control issues such as damaged or improperly packed goods, day-to-day concerns with warehouse capacity and client deadlines in the most efficient and quality orientated manner
Displays exceptional levels of professionalism at all times with face-to-face, telephone and email interactions with customers
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES

Adherence to shipping, receiving and regulatory-compliance procedures
Completion of all relevant documentation including pick lists, bills of lading, work orders and shipping orders
Completion of daily shipping and receiving logs
Recording of shipment data such as weight, charges and damages
Customer Service Delivery, both internal and external
Efficient rectification of problems such as damages, shortages and non-conformance to specifications
Time Management – Accountable for export distribution inventory to both company owned locations and external customers
