The Market Communications Manager will report directly to the Senior Director, Market Communications & Strategy. Working closely with the Regional Director, the Market Communications Manager will be responsible to develop powerful market communications activities to support the regional sales activities. This is a highly operational and sales supportive role. The ideal candidate has 5-10 years’ experience in marketing & communications in a B2B environment, with in-depth knowledge of the telecoms, aviation or satellite industry. Experience working in the IMEA region is a must, as well as fluency in English. The candidate is expected to be already present within the region.

The IMEA region is at an exciting moment in its strategy as it focuses on regional deals and begins opening up new markets for Inmarsat Aviation.

Primary role purpose :

The Market Communications Manager – IMEA will have two primary functions. The first is to work closely with the Regional Director and his team to help plan, develop and manage powerful market communications activities to support the regional sales activities. This will involve the preparation and delivery of the annual integrated market communications plans and budgets to include PR, Events and regional sales and marketing activities. The successful candidate will also be very involved in the planning and creation of regional sales presentations working with the existing centralised sales and marketing toolkit.

The second part of this role will be to work closely with the Senior Director, Market Communications & Strategy to ensure that Inmarsat Aviation’s core messages, communications strategy and leadership messages are fully understood and adopted in the region. Additionally, the successful will candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering a number of ABU Market Communications projects each year.

To achieve this, in addition to the Aviation teams, you will also need to work closely with Inmarsat’s central marketing team to ensure that the region receives the right level of support across events and PR.

Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the regional sales team with marketing plans and materials to achieve sales across the region
Working and supporting regional directors to enhance the ABU reputation in the region through events, speaking and sponsorship opportunities
Delivering and maintaining Inmarsat and Inmarsat Aviation’s messages in their region ensuring that all external communications are consistent and in line with the defined message and campaign strategy
Where relevant translating specific ABU messages into locally relevant communications whilst retaining the overarching theme
Supporting local sales presentations with up-to-date marketing materials and information and utilising local agency support when necessary
Working closely with the central ABU team to ensure that all communications remain consistent, relevant and on message.
Working with the central PR team to ensure all media opportunities are highlighted with the central PR team
Collating and sharing relevant regional insight and feeding back into the central team in order to enhance all materials
Working with the local agency (Ogilvy) to ensure that all communications and the ABU story is delivered consistently to all audiences
Work with the central ABU Marketing Communications team to develop counter messaging strategies to address negative media coverage or competitor sales messages.
Prepare local marketing budgets and supply to the central team
Take ownership for special ABU projects as and when required to support the delivery of integrated communications
Work closely with the Market Communications team subject matter experts (GX) to get the right materials to suit the regional activities
Support the wider ABU Marketing & Strategy team at events and covering for other members when they are on holiday.
