Position Title: Director of Student Services

Director for student services.
Role Description:
This is a key position that is opening at University of Modern Sciences. The post holder will have strategic responsibility for the management and oversight of the following key areas of activity – in no particular order:

General: Provide all services that will improve the student’s campus life and help students to understand learning styles and Increase students’ confidence, enhance skills, and general knowledge, Lead and represent the department of student services in the day to day operations; provide campus-wide leadership by directing the department’s work with faculty and staff, students and partners to ensure student engagement and retention goals of University Of Modern Sciences Polices, Lead and manage the department’s annual budget etc.

Customer Care: Build and maintain relationships with students, faculty and parents to effectively communicate academic and/or behavioral performance plans, Escalate and resolve areas of concern as raised by parents and students.

Career Guidance: Provide effective and timely career advising to University Of Modern Sciences students on career options, resume and cover letter critique, development of job search strategies and interview preparation

Career center development: Foster partnership and increase opportunities through continuous, targeted engagement with HR offices of corporate partners, including organization of networking sessions as well as customized initiatives to meet the hiring needs of the organization .

Internship support and placements: Advertise vacancies and opportunities to students; Lead and manage multi-sector placements, internships and effective career development support for University Of Modern Sciences students.

Training and development: Identify and organize relevant workshops and trainings to ensure that University Of Modern Sciences students develop skills needed to grow their careers and conduct effective job searches; identify professionals from respective industries to conduct career talks to increase the exposure of students to the business world; organize networking sessions to create additional platform to connect corporates and students

Reporting Line:
The post holder is a member of the University Of Modern Sciences leadership team and reports directly to the Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affair.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Education industry.

Master’s degree in counseling, administration, human resources or related field is preferable.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Ability to demonstrate integrity, credibility, confidentiality, and responsibility in all interactions.

Passion for working with students.

Responsibility:

The VPFA is also responsible for a range of non-finance functions including the operation and maintenance of facilities, construction activity, facilities planning, sustainability, human resources, and legal ,liability management, and risk management In addition, the VPFA has responsibilities of University marketing to enhance the University’s public relations and collaborations internally and externally.

Other key relationships: The Provost and other members of the senior leadership team. Other critical constituencies include the Board, faculty, staff, parents, students, and alumni. Local government leaders of Middletown.
