Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is looking for a Mechanical Package Interface Engineer to work in Dubai on the engineering and project management services for our project in Iraq.

This is a Home Office position based in Dubai, but will involve visits to the Client offices and/or site in Iraq. Normal working time will be 48 hours / 5 days per week.

The contract is to provide engineering and procurement services, for gas processing in the southern area of Iraq. The work may consist of Conceptual study, FEED and detailed engineering and procurement for various brownfields projects in southern Iraq to capture the flared gas and process. Consisting of upstream gas gathering (dehydration and compression), gas processing (NGL and LPG trains), LPG refrigeration, storage and jetty off loading and pipelines.
Reporting to Lead Mechanical Engineer the candidate will assume sole responsibility for assigned New Compression Mechanical Package engineering.
Review of deliverables by OEM/ E&P for all project Phases.
To ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule.
To provide direction and guidance to OEM/ E&P on all engineering technical queries raised by either internal or external parties.
Multidisciplinary Co-ordination with E&P disciplines for timely information flow to OEM.
To liaise with the Client’s Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion.
Experience with either GE, Atlas Copco, Exterran, Wasco. Compressor package management experience required.
Review of Proposals and clarifications to OEM
Base line schedule approval
Organizing Kick Off Meeting with OEM
Change Control management
Participation in weekly Bi-weekly meeting for Work orders as well as OEM review meetings
Monitoring CTR from Manhour point of view for FEED / Execution for OEM
Schedule Management
Relationship Management with client PE / TA and E&P PE/PM
Accurate reporting to Client
Assist in Work Order Proposal development by OEM and review of the completed CTR’s.
Work as mediator among OEM, Client and E&P contractor for the Engineering Inputs and Sequence for the same.
Conceptual clarity for Early Production requirements and phased Execution of the mechanical package.
Understanding on applying Contingences requirements and Change handling without affecting Base line schedule.
To provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline.
To co-ordinate with OEM and E&P disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up.
To identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.
Skills / Qualifications
Degree in Instrument or Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng./M.Sc.)
Minimum of 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry
Minimum of 6 years’ proven capability in an OEM company such as GE, Atlas Copco, Exterran, Wasco
Compressor package management experience required
Operational support / construction and commissioning experience
Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
Previous experience of working in the Middle East is a must
Experience of sour service operations would be an advantage
