Minimum 10 years experience as Plant Engineer with a large Civil/Mechanical Construction
Should have extensive experience in the repair & maintenance of all types of Cranes, Heavy Construction Equipment such as Dozers, Graders, Shovels, Excavators, Rollers, Compressors, Welding Machines, Pumps etc. and Heavy/Light transport vehicles.
Good communication skills spoken and written English.
Proficient in MS Office applications.
Vehicle safety training certificates an advantage.
S. / B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering/Auto Mobil Engineering
Responsible for managing and guiding the Workshop department in day to day activities of providing various projects with vehicles, heavy equipment, plant, machinery and tools, while ensuring the effective implementation of Quality Management system procedures.
Ensures that all vehicles are safe and road-worthy, driven by trained drivers and maintained by experienced personnel.
Responsible for effectively implementing procedures to meet the transport needs of the company, especially concerning the movement of laborers from different camps to the construction sites.
Must be familiar with all vehicles used and be able to maintain records of licenses, registrations and the like.
Co-ordinate the work of subordinate staff and work effectively with order executives and departmental managers to ensure effective completion of work and achievement of departmental objectives and targets.
Develop, seek approval for and implement systems, standards, procedures and methodologies to facilitate the provision and operation of Plant services to the high standard of performance expected in the organization.
Monitor cost effectiveness of all Plant operations following consultation with subordinates, analyses information and makes recommendations / approves changes to achieve increased performance.
Manage and co-ordinate the demobilization of Project Plant, spare parts and miscellaneous service equipment.

Develop and implement strategy for workshop management so as to meet organizational performance plans within permissible budget and time scale.
Review the prevailing system, identify the shortfalls and establish/ maintain appropriate system for measuring necessary aspects of workshop management and improvement.
Monitor measure and report on workshop related issues/development plans / achievements within timescales.
Manage and control department expenditure within permissible budgets.
Ensure maximum manpower utilization through task cards to achieve operational efficiency and reduce idle time.
Ensure the repairs and maintenance quality in manufactures standards with market reputations.
Ensure all records/catalogues related to equipments and machineries are maintained properly in the respective section for immediate reference.
Advise Higher Management on weekly basis regarding various defective equipments, machineries and vehicles under mechanical division and suggestions for further action with P&L (profit and loss).
Monthly budget requirement of mechanical division for the coming month to be submitted 10 days prior to the month end for approval.
To evaluate and report confidentially to the management on quarterly basis the qualities, performance and suitability of senior personnel of your division.
Preventive maintenance should be done in scheduled time in coordination with the production related people so as to ensure that immediate eruption to production is avoided.
Study / forecast submit the additional manpower requirements of Division on quarterly basis, Excess manpower to be informed to management to avoid idling of people in the department and to enable their utilization anywhere else.
Co-ordinate with the transport officer to ensure that the Equipment Operators/Drivers are properly trained to operate the company’s fleet.
