The Purchaser will generally be responsible for all the activities of the purchasing section, among

others, co-ordinate best purchasing practices, maximize benefits to the company, train the

purchasing team, develop the SOP of the section and set action plan for the Purchasing section

aligned with the company goals.

Key Responsibilities

 Purchase or contract for supplies, services and equipment required within the limits of the
approved budget by the General Manager.

 Negotiate and recommend execution of contracts for the purchase of supplies, services
and equipment.

 Act to procure for the needed quality in supplies, services and equipment at least expense
to the company.

 Manage internal departmental requests and coordinate with existing suppliers and target
new vendors as and when strategically needed.

 Keep informed of current developments in the field of purchasing, prices, market
conditions and new products.

 Supervise the inspection of all supplies, transport and logistical requirements in addition to
the invoicing and billing formalities.

 Develop the company’s purchasing procedure.
 Coordinate with Departments Heads to ensure proper implementation of the company

purchasing policies.

 Manage all work practices of the purchasing.
 Train and develop the Purchasing team.
 Conduct a regular performance appraisal to the Purchasing team.
 Set action plan for the Purchasing section aligned with the company goals.
 Ensure each employee has his/her own identified action plan in line with the Purchasing

section and company objectives.

 Design Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Purchasing section.
 Monitoring and evaluating the activities within the Purchasing section for further


 Ensure correct implementation of company policies and procedures in the Purchasing

 Define roles, responsibilities and authority in the Purchasing section.
 Respond rapidly to requests for emergency and non-emergency assistance in a

professional manner.

 Read the HSE Policy and understand HSE responsibilities.
 Provide accurate information to audit team.
 Coordinate with Veolia employees to achieve the required tasks.
 Undertake any other reasonable work or related task at the request of the Financial


Your Profile

Experience & Qualification

˗ Minimum 5 years of experience in the UAE in the same position in a well reputed organization,
preferably environmental services or equivalent.

˗ Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from recognized university.

Specific Knowledge & Technical Skills

˗ Good Negotiation skills.
˗ Local market knowledge.
˗ Good business network.
˗ Team player.
˗ Good business letter writing skills.
˗ Time management.
˗ Schedule and organizational skills.

IT: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Language: Good English communications skills, Hindi is a must, Arabic is an advantage.

UAE Driving License: Is essential
