Business Development Manager – Sectors
Purpose of job:
To deliver high-level, quality and innovative business development and marketing strategies for the region.
Practice areas: Corporate, Real Estate, Projects, Litigation & Arbitration (incl. contentious construction) and to some extent Private Client
Key sectors: Infrastructure & Real Estate, Energy & Natural Resources, Transport, TMT, Private Wealth.
Countries: The role will also support BCLP Africa strategy.

1. Marketing planning and budget development
Work with the Business Development Manager, Head of Business Development and partners across the offices to support the development and implementation of annual marketing plans (practice, sector and/or country).
Help manage marketing budget and ensure regular reporting of marketing expenditure for respective practice groups, including budget reforecasting.
Initiate and/or lead ad hoc BD/marketing projects for each office to further strategic objectives.
2. Implementation of the marketing plans
2.1 Business development
Support new client acquisition/targeting programme for each practice group and country focus group.
Help develop high quality pitches, capability statements and presentations.
Ensure the pitch process is in line with the firm’s ‘pitch policy’.
Undertake pitch analysis and be a champion for pitch debriefs.
Contribute UAE content to Firmwide tenders as required.
2.2 Profile raising/marcomms
Work with the design team to develop promotional materials including brochures, flyers, website, legal updates and other direct marketing.
Work with BCLP’s Communications team in London, partners and any appointed PR agency to help drive coverage in target media.
Coordinate the region’s participation in relevant legal directories and awards.
Drive client mailings and thought leadership campaigns in line with the marketing plans.
Events – help drive BCLP seminar programmes, conferences sponsorship and participation and other hosted-events.
Provide CRM support to clients within our Focus Client programme as well as at the practice group sector level.
Help to champion client feedback process.
Lead and/or contribute to partner BD and marketing meetings.
Hold partner and associate inductions as required.
Internal communication – share marketing activity to the firm to ensure UAE visibility across the firm.
Help manage the Intranet marketing content for UAE.
Ensure best practice processes are implemented within each group.
Contribute to the firm’s deals and tenders database.
Input into board and other management reports as required.

Experience and knowledge
Solid marketing and business development experience.
Professional services background preferred.

Happy to ‘roll up sleeves’ and play a hands-on role
