Main Duties

Administration

Inspects, sorts, and stores items in prescribed storage facilities or yard sites for issue when needed.
Performs stock work by applying identification numbers to supplies; receiving and issuing materials and equipment, and assisting with stock inventories.
Keeps yard equipment serviced and sees that mechanical difficulties are promptly reported.
Operates a fork lift and other vehicles to move and stack materials, supplies and equipment, in a safe manner.
Prepares materials disbursement and receipt reports and other reports as required. These functions may be required by handwritten or computerized methods.
Uses hand tools in issuing, receiving, and reclaiming materials as may be required.
Responsible at all times for security in storage areas.
Verifies articles received against purchase orders, by counting or weighing the articles, and inspection, to comply with Specifications. Is responsible for listing any discrepancy or damaged material at time of receipt.
Perform minor repair or maintenance work on assigned equipment and properties.
Makes delivery of stores, inter-office mail and other items as required to District offices. Runs general errands, outside of District, as required.
Scraps, or returns to stock, salvaged materials.
Monitors equipment and makes adjustments as needed.
Customer Service

Handles all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to ensure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.

Financial

Ensures that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
Operational

Supports the day-to-day administrative operation of food purchasing within the Purchasing Room.
Maintains food requisitions, purchase requests, purchase order files and records.
Enforces all operating and control procedures to ensure that movement of goods into and within the hotel is properly accounted for as instructed by the Purchasing Manager.
Ensures that inventory items are stored properly and issued in FIFO (First In, First Out) rotation to minimise wastage and spoilage.
Unloads materials from trucks by hand or with hand operated or motorized equipment.
Inspects items, as to quality and quantity, against freight documents.
Opens, timestamps, separates, and distributes incoming mail in a mail/stores room.
Counts, weighs, and measures goods received or issued.
Unpacks incoming goods and wraps and packs outgoing goods.
Dispenses items and posts amounts of items to inventory control cards or automated systems.
Operates hand equipment such as hand trucks and dollies to transport stock.
May operate a motor vehicle, forklift, or other material handling equipment to facilitate the movement of materials.
Cleans work area.
Performs related work appropriate to the classification as assigned.
Operates a variety of electronic/mechanized mail equipment such as tyres, folders, labellers, standard inserters, and busters.
Fills water and ink reservoirs and cleans and lubricates equipment as needed.
Sets up equipment.
Loads media into equipment.
Performs routine maintenance and makes minor repairs.
Helps the Storekeeper administer his works and tasks.
Personnel

Supports the implementation, demonstrating and reinforcing of Asiana Hotel Values and Culture Characteristics.
Other Duties

Understands and strictly adheres to Rules and Regulations established in the Employee Handbook and the hotel’s policies concerning fire, hygiene, health and safety.
Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
Responds to changes in the Materials function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
Attends training sessions and meetings as and when required.
Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Exercises responsible behaviour at all times and positively representing the hotel.
